Emma Lina Martinez

Emma Lina Martinez, 85, was called to rest by our Heavenly Father on Thursday, July 23, 2020 in La Luz, New Mexico surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Moris, Chihuahua, Mexico on September 23, 1934 to Nicolas I. and Dolores G. Porchas.

Emma Lina is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Jose P. Martinez of La Luz, Mexico; daughter, Emma L. (Martinez) Blessing (Brian); sons, Carlos Martinez, Jose Martinez, Jr. (Tina) and Raymundo Martinez (Stephanie) all of Alamogordo, NM.  Grandchildren; Gerardo Valenzuela (Angela), Priscilla Salem (Omar Reyes), Michael Dugan, Carlos Martinez (Vanessa), Jasmine Tarrant, Lucas Martinez (Cynthia), Angela Martinez, Sebastian Martinez, Valentina Martinez, Cruz Martinez; Great Grandchildren;  Samantha Reyes, Deanandre Valenzuela, Andrea Valenzuela, Julian Valenzuela, Isaac Dugan, Silas Dugan; Christian Candelaria, Augustine Candelaria, Winston Tarrant, Serenity Tarrant, Santiago Martinez, Marisol Martinez, Renesmae Martinez, Gian Carlo Martinez; and one Great Great Grandson, Javier Reyes-Gamble.

She was preceded in death by her parents Nicholas and Dolores Porchas, her eight siblings: Maria Jesusita Porchas; Samuel Porchas, Nicholas Porchas, Dolores (Porchas) Luis, Ignacio Porchas; Manuel Porchas, Carmen (Porchas) Cardenas; Maria (Porchas) Gaytan and Esther (Porchas) Guerrero. 

Emma Lina was a homemaker, devoted & faithful wife, loving, caring and fun-loving mother and caregiver to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She will be missed by many but her memory will live forever in their hearts.

The Martinez family has entrusted their wife and mother to the care of Scenic Chapel to direct funeral services and have chosen to conduct a private Christian memorial and graveside burial.
