Hattie Johnson Obituary

Hattie Louise Johnson arrive on the scene on April 12th, 1941 to the union of Tommie and Evelyn White in Cedartown, Georgia.  She was born a leader being the eldest of twelve children.

Hattie moved from Cedartown, Georgia with her family to Cleveland, Ohio as a young woman for greater opportunity and prosperity.  She married Joseph Beasley and from this union came three beautiful children, Patricia, Joseph, and Thomas.  However, Hattie and her children lost Joseph 12 years later.  Many years later Hattie was remarried to Melvin Eugene Johnson and from this union came Melvin.

She loved her children and family with all her heart and dedicated herself to always being there for them.  Hattie made a living as a Home Day Work Specialist.  She continually received rave reviews from her clients which built long lasting relationships.

Hattie, knew that God was her anchor.  And she was a great helper to all of God's people.  She showed grace to her family and all others in a non judgmental way.  Hattie always brought joy, laughter, love, strength and confidence everywhere she went.  She often gave wise counsel and uplifting words of encouragement which motivated many.  Though she was a sweet woman of small stature, one could not underestimate the giant fighting spirit in her to protect all those she loved.  She enjoyed playing pool, card games, and watching TV shows like:  Walker, Texas Ranger, Perry Mason and Westerns.

Hattie lived a long and fruitful life that impacted her siblings, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her community.  She was granted an award for her delicious recipes.  An example of her being a quiet storm was when A bus stop was awarded to her by the Greater Cleveland Transit Authority.  Her voice was heard by writing letters and protesting the RTA.  It is evident that her active, fearless and independent spirit inspired those in her community at large and the friends that knew her best.

In 2021 she relocated to Alamogordo, New Mexico because of her declining health to live out her final years with her daughter, Patricia.  Early Thursday morning of March 9th, 2023 she went home to be with her Heavenly Father.

Hattie will be joining her husbands, Joseph Beasley and Eugene Johnson; son, Thomas Beasley; father, Tommie White; mother, Evelyn White; brothers and sister, James Edward White (Ed), Jay White, Robert Lee White (Bobby), Jimmy White, Charles White (Chubby) and Joann Johnson.

She leaves behind her children, Patricia, Joseph and Melvin; her son-in-law, Donal Sr. and other children that adopted her as their Mother; also her brothers and sisters, Henry White, Robert White (Jr), Melton White, Ethel Mae Foster, Evelyn Benson (Sister), Eleanor White (Ellen); many grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
