Linda Lee Turner Obituary

Linda Jean Lee Turner, 69, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021 in El Paso, Texas.  She was born on April 29, 1951 in Alamogordo, New Mexico to Charlie T. Lee and Jean E. (Althaus) Lee. 
 
Survivors include her mother, Jean E. Lee and brother, Bebo (Madalynn) Lee of Alamogordo, NM; son, Shawn (Nicole) Williamson of Etiwanda, CA; two daughters, Amber (Wade) McClain of Tularosa, NM, Misty (Sean) Orr of Alamogordo, NM; two granddaughters, Morgayne Smith and Kymberlee Orr of Alamogordo, NM; two grandsons, Kamrynne Davis of Alamogordo, NM, Jordan Walker of Tularosa, NM;  nephew Colton Lee of Alamogordo, NM.;  niece Dalton Lamczyk (Brian) of Alamogordo, NM;  aunt Mary Jane  McDowell of  Missouri and many cousins and an extended family. 
 
She was preceded in death by her father, Charlie T. Lee and daughter, Heather Rae Davis; her paternal grandparents, Don T. and Charlotte Lee and maternal grandparents, Harry  and Emily Althaus; uncle Ray McDowell and cousin, Craig McDowell. 

Linda was a resident of Alamogordo, with a few years living in Ohio. She graduated from Alamogordo High School in 1969. When she was younger she was active in the ranch work and enjoyed working with animals; she competed in different rodeo events and horsemanship competitions. She represented Otero County as Fair Rodeo Queen in 1968 and 1970. She was a member of the Otero Cowbelles,  where she was the local chapter president from 2007 - 2008 and 2015 - 2016. Additionally, she served as the president of the state chapter of the New Mexico Cowbelles in 2011. She was also a member of the White Sands Chapter for the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed making stained glass, educating herself in holistic medicine; researching genealogy lineage and gazing up at the stars. She will be dearly missed by all that loved her, as she has left an imprint on our hearts. She always gave “love and light” to us all and was such a strong woman. She was a true fighter and a free spirit. 

The family will greet friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, February 12, 2021 at Scenic Chapel.

Interment will be on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Monte Vista Cemetery with Rev. Coy Pruett officiating. Due to current Covid restrictions only the immediate family will be allowed at the graveside. 
 
Pallbearers include: Shawn Williamson, Sean Orr, Kamrynne Davis, Colton Lee, Wade McClain and Jordan Walker. Honorary pallbearers include: Dalton Lamczyk, Kymberlee Orr and Morgayne Smith.

Should friends desire, contributions may be made to the following: New Mexico Beef Council, Otero/NM Cowbelles or National Society Daughter of the American Revolution.

The Lee Turner family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Scenic Chapel to direct the services.

Due to the COVID Pandemic, occupancy at the visitation is limited to no more than 5 people at a time. Further, attendance at the graveside is limited to 5 people as well. Please practice social distancing at all times. Thank you for adhering to the Department of Health mandate.
