Susan Ilene Young

Susan Ilene Young, 77, of Alamogordo, New Mexico passed away peacefully on May 7, 2023.

Susan was born on September 27, 1945 to Dorothy and Richard Storm in Chicago, Illinois.

Susan served 20 years in the United States Air Force as a Radiology Technician. Through the Air Force Susan was able to travel the world with many duty stations. Along the way she met and married Michael Young in 1982. They were stationed to Holloman Air Force Base in 1984 where they settled and retired In Alamogordo.

After retiring until her passing, Susan enjoyed spending time with family, absolutely loved shopping, volunteering at Gerald Champion as a Pink Lady, and playing Bunko with her dear friends.

Susan is survived by her sister Barbara Leavey, 3 brothers Richard Storm, Michael Storm, and David Storm. Her daughter Michelle Clem and Scott(husband), grandchildren Jessica Stewart and Natalie(wife), Jeremy Teahon and Jennifer(girlfriend), Dylan Matthews and Randi(fiancé), and 8 great grandchildren.

Susan has joined her mother, father, stepfather Jack Schraag, and husband Michael.

Susan’s service will be held at the Scenic Chapel in Alamogordo on June 3, 2023 at 1:00 pm. The family would like to welcome all friends and family to join in celebrating the wonderful life of Susan Young.

The family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Scenic Chapel to direct the services.
