Duane Adams

Funeral Service Practitioner #535

Duane was born and raised in Alamogordo. His family has a rich heritage in Otero County. His grandparents, Frank and Josephine Smith were active in the community for many years. His parents Billy and Barbara Adams had long careers with the test track at HAFB and NMSU-A.  He graduated from AHS in 1997.  Duane served his internship with Hamilton Funeral Home when it was on 10th st.  Graduated from Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in 1980.   The majority of his career was spent in practice with French Mortuary in Albuquerque, NM before returning to Alamogordo.  Duane is married to Tanya (Williamson) Adams, They have two children, Collin and Nolan and two wonderful grandchildren.  They are strong supporters of Autism Awareness. 

Mark Brown

Funeral Service Intern #2408 & 2413

Mark comes to Scenic Chapel with a desire to continue serving others.  He’s native to the Alamogordo area, born to a military father and his mother, Lily’s, large and deeply rooted Sedillo family.  After graduation and being raised amongst the family restaurants, Mark decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and joined the United States Air Force.  He served 24 years throughout the world in various campaigns before retiring back to his home of Alamogordo.  When Mark isn’t with his kids he is usually found out shooting pool or off riding the Harley.  


Kimberly Byers

Administrative Assistant

Kimberly Byers has been a member of our staff since 2017.  She is a retired school teacher who worked for the Cloudcroft School District for 25 years.  Kim is the daughter of a retired Air Force officer, and grew up in and out of the Alamogordo area.  She is a 1978 graduate of Alamogordo High School and a resident of La Luz.  Kim takes pride in working with our dedicated staff who diligently strive to provide the best care for the grieving families in our community.

Brenda Cravens

Administrative Assistant

Brenda is a retired teacher from Cloudcroft.  She and her husband, Dennis, a retired college professor and research scientist, moved to Cloudcroft in 1994 with their two daughters.  Brenda has been working with Hamilton O’Dell Funeral Home and Alamogordo Funeral Home since 2014.  She enjoys working with the people we serve and the office work involved.

Sindi Neudorf

Chief Financial Officer

Sindi graduated from Alamogordo High School in 1980, and immediately went to work for Dama Wimberly, a court reporter.  In March of 1981, Dama recommended to Charles W. Durrett that he hire Sindi at his law office.  She was employed by Charles Durrett and Lisa Durrett (daughter) as a legal secretary for 25 years.  Lisa Durrett met and married Kent House in March of 2002, and in 2003 they built Professional Crematory Services, at which time Sindi began her career in the funeral industry as a bookkeeper.  In 2005, Kent and Lisa purchased the Alamogordo Funeral Home, at which time Sindi became their Chief Financial Officer.  Sindi took over those same duties for the Hamilton-O’Dell Funeral Home when it was purchased by Kent and Lisa House in 2009.

Connie Perusse came to the funeral home in 2009 as our Preneed Specialist.  She obtained a Mortuary Science Degree from Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service, in 2018, becoming a Funeral Service Practitioner the same year.  Prior to funeral service, she retired from banking after nearly twenty-five years.  Connie is a native of Alamogordo, active in the community and is currently a member of the Alamogordo Rotary Club and P.E.O., Chapter BI. She is married to Mark and together they have five children and one grandchild.

Kent House, Owner & Funeral Director (FSP#580 & DD#0062), native Alamogordo resident, started in funeral service in 1980. He received his Funeral Director/Embalmer License in 1985. He brings many years of experience in funeral service and in the Alamogordo community, as well as the passion, commitment and flexibility to take care of people in a loving, caring and professional manner. He is married to Lisa Durrett House, and has two children and three grandchildren.  He has enjoyed being active in community, state and national activities: Member, Alamogordo Chamber of Commerce, Past President in 2002-2003; NM Funeral Service Association, President in 1999-2000; National Funeral Directors Association, Legislative Policy Board member 1998-2001, 2011-2017; Alamogordo Rotary Club, President 2006-2007; United Way, Past Chairman; Red Cross, Past Chairman; Loco Credit Union, past Board Member; Kids Kingdom, Fundraising Chairman; and many other boards and committees.  He currently services on the Endowment Fund Board and Human Rights Commission at Zia Therapy Center and the board of the White Sands Health Care Association.

Lisa Durrett House, J.D. #726, D.D. #70

President/CEO/Owner

Lisa grew up in Alamogordo and is married to Kent House. They have two grown children, and three grandchildren. Lisa has been helping people as an attorney for almost 37 years, her law firm being Lisa K. Durrett, P.C., and now works primarily in their funeral homes and related businesses. Since 2000, she has attended numerous seminars, workshops and conventions related to funeral, cremation and celebration services, and is a licensed Direct Disposer. These services are a natural extension of her compassion towards and desire to help people. Member: Alamogordo Chamber of Commerce; New Mexico Bar Assn; Otero Co. Bar Assn.; P.E.O. Chapter BI; and Elks.  She has served on a number of boards, including CHINS (Children in Need of Services), the Senior Advisory Council, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and COPE (Center of Protective Environment).  She and her husband are strong in their faith and love to travel, cook, boat and watch their delightful grandchildren play and grow.
